The things county movers ask
Moving raises a lot of questions — more so when a border is involved. Here are the ones we hear most, answered plainly. If yours is not here, just ask.
Which parts of Buckinghamshire do you cover?
The whole county — Aylesbury and the Vale in the north, the Wycombe valley and Marlow, the South Bucks commuter towns of Beaconsfield and Gerrards Cross, and the Chiltern towns of Amersham, Chesham and Great Missenden. If you are moving within Bucks, out of it, or abroad, we begin here.
How do I get a quote for my move?
Tell us where you are moving from and to, and roughly what is coming with you. For most Buckinghamshire homes we can arrange a survey — in person or by video — and then send a clear, written quotation. We would rather see the job than guess at it.
Can you handle a listed cottage or a narrow Chiltern lane?
That is much of what we do here. The county has a great many period and listed homes, conservation villages, and single-track lanes up in the hills. We survey the access at both ends, protect the fabric of an older house, and bring the right vehicle for a tight approach.
Do you move fine furniture and antiques?
Yes — and it is a point of pride in a county built on furniture-making. Fine pieces, antiques, a piano or a collection are assessed at survey, wrapped and, where needed, crated to a proper standard, and carried with the particular care they call for.
Which countries do you move Buckinghamshire households to?
Our established routes run to France, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Portugal, and we move throughout Europe beyond those. Every international move leaves from Buckinghamshire and is planned around the destination’s customs and access.
How long will a move to Europe take?
That depends on the route, the customs clearance and how the load is scheduled with others heading the same way. Rather than promise a figure we cannot keep, your written quotation includes an estimated window for your move, and we keep you posted as it firms up.
Can you store our things between homes?
Yes. County chains do not always line up, so we hold goods in clean, secure storage for as long as needed — a short gap between completions or a longer wait while a home abroad is readied. Everything is listed in and out.
Do you move offices and businesses as well as homes?
We do. Offices and practices across the county are relocated with minimum disruption — planned around your calendar, carried out of hours where it helps, with every asset logged and accounted for.
Still have a question?
Ask us directly — no obligation. A coordinator will give you a straight answer and, if you like, arrange a survey.
